Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is one of the most well known and popular type of massage therapy in the West, also referred to as ‘classic massage’. It is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology as opposed to energy work that is more common in Asian-style massage.

During a typical Swedish Massage session, various techniques are combined together to manipulate muscles and tissues. Some of the techniques include gliding strokes, lifting and kneading, squeezing, cupping, chopping, friction and vibration. These movements warm up the muscle tissue, releasing tension and gradually breaking up muscle "knots" or adhered tissues, called adhesions. Body oil or wax is used all over the body. The back, shoulders, neck, legs, stomach, arms and chest are all targeted in this deeply stimulating massage.

Swedish Massage is ideal if you are feeling fatigued, exhausted or if you want to just relax and unwind. It promotes deep relaxation, relieves stress and tension, aches and pain.
